New Racing Precinct Unveiled

New Racing Precinct Unveiled

Date: 20-Sep-2020

The official opening of new world class facilities at the Club by Queensland Racing Minister the Honourable Stirling Hinchliffe sets the scene for an expanded business model and strategic direction for the ITC not just in terms of its core racing activities but also provides a springboard into the growing entertainment and events market for the wider Ipswich regional community.

In an historic coincidence it was 36 years to the weekend since the Members’ Eye Liner Lounge and new race day stalls were officially opened.

Whilst they served the Club well for almost four decades those facilities were in desperate need of upgrading.

The new members’, jockeys’ and integrity facilities, the new race day stalls and upgraded irrigation and drainage systems on the course proper have been funded by the Queensland Government through the Racing Infrastructure Fund administered by Racing Queensland.

In the highly competitive contest for limited infrastructure funds the $25M plus in funding approved by the Queensland Government for this project demonstrates its unwavering commitment to the Ipswich community.

This support is greatly appreciated by the ITC Committee and paves the way for the ITC to pursue the next phase of commercial opportunities on non-core racing land to ensure the self-sufficiency of the Club for many decades into the future.
